We visited Cuba in April 2015 to see the effects of communist rule before sweeping changes occur after improved economic relations with the US. I've written a short essay about our experiences and have posted photographs which expose both good and bad views of our island neighbor.

Our first trip with Overseas Adventure Travel. We were delighted by the way the tour was conducted; we felt that we weren't merely consuming the country as tourists, but participating in a small improvement to their lives and building an image of Americans not found in media.
While working at Chabot Space and Science Center, I had the opportunity to participate in the development of an exhibition that focused on ancient Chinese astronomy techniques and instruments. As part of a team, I went to China as a photographer to document as much as possible about all things astronomy. These images are mostly about the tourist aspects of my trip.
