Welcome
I've had the great fortune to be able to travel. People in world are always presenting varying views of their lives and goals, living in cities or villages. Come see some of what I've seen.

Having won a trip for two that had to be taken in 2019, Sylvia and I decided to go to Tanzania for our fortieth wedding anniversary. We loved our experience in Southern Africa and wanted to see the "endless plain" that is the Serengeti. OAT's Safari Serengeti: Tanzania Lodge & Tented Safari provided the perfect venue to celebrate.

Getting to the end of the earth takes a bit of time. Steven and Sylvia started in San Francisco (37.8° N), Howard started in Tennessee; and we all headed to Buenos Aires before flying to Tierra del Fuego (54.9° S) to board M/V Corinthian. The ship is a striking example of teamwork in every aspect of our traveler experience. Where to start? OAT operates a very tight ship. The crew anticipates our needs; and the procedure to disembark/embark the zodiacs runs like clockwork. The Expedition Staff prepped us with talks about wildlife, geology, climate, ecology and more.

Since we love mountains and hiking we signed up for the Northern Italy: The Alps, Dolomites & Lombardy tour offered by OAT. And since we love Paris and haven't visited Venice together, we added days before and after the tour.

On OAT's Ancient Kingdoms: Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam , we were immersed in the vibrant cultures that have emerged in the wakes of lost empires. Traveling the Indochina peninsula through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam, we connected with locals who shared their homes, markets, and schools with us. We slipped into daily life for A Day in the Life of a Laotian village, where we met young schoolchildren and Hmong villagers. We experienced the quiet tranquility of the early morning alms-giving ceremony with local monks.
